The LAPD Topanga Division is launching a Volunteer Community Patrol Program (VCPP). The first VCPP training day scheduled for June 23, 8AM-4PM, (lunch break included). Reminder: You must be approved prior to attending the training session.
Volunteers must be 21 years of age, or older, and have have a valid driver’s license. To be considered for this program, you must complete a Volunteer Enrollment Form, an informal interview, background check, Department agreement forms…etc. After the vetting process volunteers will need to complete training in a variety of areas including driving, radio procedures, checking out/in equipment…etc.
The duties may include the following types of activities:
*Community patrol
*Missing Persons assistance
*Traffic Control
*Special Events
*Administrative activities
*Non-hazardous investigation follow-up
*Community outreach
