West Valley Anti-Human Trafficking Public Awareness

West Valley Anti-Human Trafficking Public Awareness

Human trafficking is not just a global scourge, it’s a multibillion dollar criminal enterprise that happens in broad daylight and in our own backyards. We need to recognize the signs and know how to report it.

The more we know about this important issue, the more we can help combat this horrific crime against humanity. Please help us get the word out.

Youth Board Member Opportunity

Youth Board Member Opportunity

Are you 16 – 18 years old? Then we want You!

The Woodland Hills/Warner Center Neighborhood Council has updated our bylaws and we now have a board seat available for a dedicated civic minded Youth Representative to serve on our Board. Board Members that serve on the Neighborhood Council Board of Directors participate in discussions of all matters that have an impact on the community.

The Woodland Hills/Warner Center Neighborhood Council represents those who live, work, or own property in Woodland Hills and Warner Center neighborhood, or have an ongoing stake in the welfare of Woodland Hills and Warner Center.

Here's some of what we do:

• We work closely with our City Council representative and their staff to deliver the best possible city services to the people and places that need them.
• We help our stakeholders resolve problems by connecting them with the right people in government.
• We make recommendations on proposed developments and zoning issues.
• We organize community festivals, movie screenings, health & safety fairs, etc.
• We organize neighborhood cleanups and develop other projects for volunteers to get involved in improving their community.
• We educate the community on matters of public safety and emergency preparedness. We work with the police to spread awareness of crime trends and ways to defend ourselves against crime.
• We publish a comprehensive weekly calendar of events in Woodland Hills and surrounding areas.
• You can get involved by joining a committee or helping us clean-up our streets and schools.

Have ideas of what you would like to see the Neighborhood Council get involved with? Great, we’d love for you to have a voice at the table.

If you are a motivated individual and interested in this exciting opportunity, please take a moment to complete the application form by February 18, 2018 and email it back to Don Patterson, Woodland Hills Warner Center Neighborhood Council Governance Committee Chair at: [email protected]. If you have any questions, please email Don Patterson.

* The Youth Board Member is eligible to vote on all issues except funding, and age restricted issues like alcohol permits. The youth member needs to live or attend school in Woodland Hills and be 16 to 18 years old at the time of appointment to the two-year term.

Update On Overnight RV Parking

There are areas around schools where its prohibited, areas where the vans can park during the day and areas where it is allowed. You will be surprised what is allowed in your neighborhood. The map does not over ride posted parking signs.
