Please note that under the Brown Act, the Board is prevented from acting on a matter that you bring to its attention during the General Public Comment period; however, the issue raised by a member of the public may become the subject of a future Board meeting. Public comment is limited to two (2) minutes per speaker, unless adjusted by the presiding officer of the Board.

II.               APPROVAL OF MINUTES – April 7, 2025

• GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT – Two-minute comments from the public on non-agenda

items that are within the WHWCNC’s Board jurisdiction and within the committee’s jurisdiction.

Each speaker will also be allowed a two (2) minute comment on each agenda item.

 

IV.              AGENDA ITEMS

For discussion and possible action:

1. Review of the Asian Fair and discussion related to Community Service commitments for

future NC outreach events.

 

2. Discussion to write a CIS relative to City Council File No. 22-0560

Municipal Lobbying Ordinance

In May 2022, the Ethics Commission recommended comprehensive updates to the

Municipal Lobbying Ordinance (MLO). See Council File No. 22-0560. The Ad Hoc Committee

on Government Reform held hearings on the Ethics Commission’s policy proposal in February

and March of 2023. But no further action was taken and the council file expired on March 17,

2025.

On April 23, 2025, the members of the Ethics Commission voted to retransmit the

previous 2022 recommendations.

The City Council is required to hold a public hearing on policy proposals that are

transmitted by the Ethics Commission within 180 days. If a hearing is not held within that time

period, the City Clerk is required to schedule the policy proposal at the next regular City Council

meeting. Los Angeles City Charter § 703(c).

3. Discussion about ways to support diversity, seniors, veterans and LGBTQ neighbors in our community.

Plan a project or NPG to support Woodland Hills’ American Legion Post 826 and its

75^th Anniversary.

 

4. Discussion about events and committee goals for fiscal year 2024/2025.

How to form a WHWCNC non-profit.

 

5. New Business – for discussion and possible action at the next committee
