The Woodland Hills-Warner Center Neighborhood Council (WHWCNC) will be attending and encourages YOU to come and participate at a Community Meeting presented by the U.S. Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) focusing on transportation options for soil removal during the future clean-up activities at the Santa Susana Field Laboratory (SSFL).
There is a potential of hundreds of trucks carrying “contaminated” soil and debris through our streets for many years. Come find out about how this will affect you.

Also, the Woodland Hills-Warner Center Neighborhood Council and the Canoga Park Neighborhood Council are currently in the planning stages for a Community Forum/Town Hall to be held in October 2014, in an effort to bring facts and details about this extremely important issue to our communities. Restock your book shelves for summer atthe WOODLAND HILLS LIBRARY’S quarterly BOOK SALE Friday and Saturday, May 23 – 24 at 22200 Ventura Blvd. A large selection of children’s and adult fiction in trade and mass market paperbacks for $.50 to $1.00. Non-fiction in a unbelievably wide variety of subjects in paper and hardback from$1.00 to $2.00. Some special editions are often worthy of collecting and are priced individually. The WHWCNC urges you to attend the meeting of the California Toxic Substance Control Department on April 9th at Simi Valley High School,5400 Cochran St., Simi Valley, CA 93063 at 6:30pm. This meeting is dealing with the cleanup of the Santa Susana Field Labs. This proposed clean-up may cause over 150,000 dump trucks to traverse through Woodland Hills carrying and potentially spreading dirt and dust from the radioactive and toxic grounds of the labs throughout our neighborhoods for the next ten years, 12 hours per day, 5 days per week, or more.. We need your support. Please attend!
