LAUSD Workforce Housing Initiative

LAUSD is exploring the potential development for affordable housing for its employees and families on LAUSD district land.  They will be holding two virtual meetings on November 1st.  These meetings are open to the public to learn about the nine district properties under consideration, the process for the Request of Expressions for Interest (REI), and next steps in the process.

2022 Valley Cultural Foundation’s Free Concerts

 

2022 Valley Cultural Foundation’s Free Concerts in the Park in Woodland Hills – June 19 to August 28. Valley Cultural Foundation’s Concerts are FREE to the public and held on Sunday evenings from June 19 – August 28, 2022. All concerts start at 5:30 PM with Emerging Artists Opening Act performances.

A concert for the whole family to enjoy.
Lawn seating, so bring a blanket and picnic basket.

As You leave for the summer, the Woodland Hills Warner Center Neighborhood Council Education Committee would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our school staff in our district. Their dedication to student success and the many extras they provide mean a great deal to the students and make this a wonderful place to learn and grow.

 

 

To All our PTA… We are so proud! Words cannot express our appreciation. We look forward to our continued work together as we challenge ourselves and our students to set the highest standards and achieve our ambitious goals.

Woodlake Elementary Community Charter School Thanks Woodland Hills Warner Center Neighborhood Council for Night of the Arts Event

Woodlake Elementary Community Charter School would like to thank the Woodland Hills Warner Center Neighborhood Council and the Education Committee for assisting Woodlake Ave School PTSA in securing a Neighborhood Purpose Grant for $1700, used towards the Arts Program “Night of the Arts” Event this Saturday April 30th from 04:00PM – 07:00PM

LAUSD Summer Break Lunch Program

LAUSD Summer Break Lunch Program

During the summer break LAUSD is providing free lunch to people ages 1 to18 at many locations throughout the San Fernando Valley (see the link below for a list). Participants do NOT have to be enrolled in any summer school classes or programs. In Woodland Hills, LAUSD Food Services will serve a free lunch from 11 a.m. to noon from June 19 to July 24 at Taft Charter High School, 5461 Winnetka Avenue. An update on LAUSD efforts to support students and schools in Woodland Hills

L.A. Unified School Board Vice President, Nick Melvoin, and Board Member Scott Schmerelson, who each represent sections of Woodland Hills, will address parents and stakeholders in Woodland Hills this Wednesday Oct. 10th at our Full NC Board Meeting. Topics of discussion will include:

  1. An overview of achievements to-date to ensure schools are thriving and remain safe spaces for learning, while also outlining key priorities for the upcoming year,
  2. Key updates on the District’s contract negotiations, and
  3. Addressing questions or concerns from parents and community members on schools in Woodland Hills and LAUSD as a whole.

This is a great opportunity to meet and hear from your elected LAUSD board Members and learn about local school opportunities and concerns.
