We will be having elections for four year terms in areas 1, 3, 5, and 7 on May19th. Below are links to information on how to register and run for Neighborhood Council.  There is also information about the election process and responsibilities of board members.  Please consider running!  To find which Neighborhood Council represents your area, click here to enter your location on an interactive map.  The Woodland Hills-Warner Center Neighborhood Council is in Region 3.

Download a trifold brochure that you can print and hand out at your outreach events to prospective candidates. Brochure may be printed in color or black and white. Professional printing/cutting/folding is not required.

CANDIDATE WORKSHOPS
EmpowerLA and the City Clerk are partnering on a series of free two-hour candidate workshops open to existing board members as well as those new to Neighborhood Councils. Included are tips for running a successful campaign; connecting with voters; advocating for issues you’re passionate about; and writing personal statements.

Workshops are being held Citywide January – March 2019. RSVP is required to ensure there is enough desk space for everyone. Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet if they have one. Click here for a calendar of currently scheduled workshops.  Click on the workshop you’d like to attend to be taken to a sign up page. Additional dates will appear on the calendar as they are confirmed.

You must first register to create a login, then use that login to access and fill out the candidate application. You must register again for 2019, even if you have been a previous Neighborhood Council candidate.

July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza – New Safety Guidelines

The Valley Cultural Center’s presentation of Bob Blumenfield’s July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza delights over 60,000 people each year with a free concert and 15-minute spectacular fireworks display. There are over 20 local restaurants on hand along with arts and crafts vendors and local businesses promoting and selling their goods.
