GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA – Comments from the public on other matters not appearing on the agenda that are within the Board’s jurisdiction will be heard during the General Public Comment period. Please note that under the Brown Act, the Board is prevented from acting on a matter that you bring to its attention during the General Public Comment period; however, the issue raised by a member of the public may become the subject of a future Board meeting. Public comment is limited to two (2) minutes per speaker, unless adjusted by the presiding officer of the Board.

II.                APPROVAL OF MINUTES – October 2. 2025

  • PUBLIC COMMENT ON ITEMS ON THE AGENDA – Comments will be heard when the agenda item is called by the Chair of the committee.

Each speaker will also be allowed a two (2) minute comment on each agenda item.

 

IV.            AGENDA ITEMS

For discussion and possible action:

 

  1. Discussion and planning for the NC booth at the Grateful Hearts event in Warner Park on

Sunday, November 9, 2025 9 AM-3 PM at 21555 Oxnard Street! Rams Village at Warner Center.
Parking at 6100 Oxnard Street.

 

  1. Motion to approve funding for one or more of the following items in support of Fire Station 84.

At the request of Community Services Committee Chairperson Joyce Fletcher, the Fire Station

provided the following list of items they need.

 

-Dyson Cordless Vacuum for our upstairs from Costco (Amazon $600)

-JBL Party Box Speaker for our gym and apparatus floor (Amazon $600)

-Gift card to Cook’sDirect.com to purchase new pots and pans

-Gift cards to Home Depot or Harbor Freight to purchase tools for the station

-Commercial Hoover Backpack Vacuum from Home Depot (Amazon $600)

 

  1. Discussion related to securing a historical designation for the American Legion Hall as it was              once a horse stable and then a makeup room at the Warner Brothers Studio in Woodland Hills.

In 1951 the building was personally donated by Harry Warner and moved to its current location.

Discussion includes a NPG for American Legion Hall with previously approved $500 funding

for a project. Julian

 

  1. Update on Letter of Recommendation to be sent to Councilmember Blumenfiled related to

request for the City Council to adopt an ordinance that includes the following standards that are

required for Marijuana Dispensaries.

Those standards include forbidding minors from entering the premises, ensuring that each location

is not within a 1,000-foot radius of a school or within a 600-foot radius of a public park, public library,            religious institution, childcare facility, youth center, alcoholism/ drug abuse recovery or treatment             facility, among other restrictions.

 

  1. New Business – to be discussed at the next committee meeting.
