In conformity with the September 16, 2021 Enactment of California Assembly Bill 361 (Rivas) and due to concerns over COVID-19, the Woodland Hills-Warner Center Neighborhood Council meeting will be conducted entirely telephonically with a call-in option or internet based service option.<\/p>\n

Every person wishing to address the Neighborhood Council must either <\/strong>dial 1 669 900 6833<\/u><\/strong> or go online via Zoom and enter <\/strong>Webinar ID #<\/u><\/strong>930 6239 0507 <\/strong>and then press # to join the meeting. Instructions on how to sign up for public comment will be given to listeners at the start of the meeting. When calling-in telephonically, t<\/strong>he public is requested to dial *9, when prompted by the presiding officer, to address the Board on any agenda item before the Board takes an action on an item.\u00a0 Zoom users should use the \u201craise hand\u201d feature.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>AB 361 Updates<\/strong>: Public comment cannot be required to be submitted in advance of the meeting, only real-time<\/p>\n

public comment is required. If there are any broadcasting interruptions that prevent the public from observing or hearing the meeting, the meeting must be recessed or adjourned. If members of the public are unable to provide\u00a0public comment or be heard due to issues within the Neighborhood Council\u2019s control, the meeting must be recessed or adjourned.<\/p>\n

Any messaging or virtual background is in the control of the individual board member in their personal capacity and does not reflect any formal position of the Neighborhood Council or the City of Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

          1. Discussion and Possible Action: <\/strong>Neighborhood Purpose Grant for the benefit of Serrania Charter for Enriched Studies for $1250. The grant will allow the school to purchase a lnchy\u2019s Bookworm Vending Machine. Inchy\u2019s Bookworm Vending Machine works by rewarding kids for good behavior, good grades, and good\u00a0attendance.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            The goal is to excite and energize our students to read, learn about themselves, and learn about others through literature. As a member of society, the more we learn to embrace others different than ourselves, the\u00a0 more we welcome new thoughts and value different ideas. As our students grow and develop, it is through literacy and excitement of education that we build a future of acceptance, and recognize the empowerment education provides. Discussion and<\/strong> Possible Action<\/strong>: Should the Education committee co-sponsor the Environmental and Beautification Committee\u2019s motion supporting the Woodland Hills Elementary beautification project for $5000. Motion passed by unanimous vote of the E&B committee on March 30, 2022. This grant will be used to improve existing irrigation and add new climate tolerant plants around the marquee and surrounding areas.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
