\nFive street segments in Woodland Hills were approved for speed limit increases at the end of 2018 in order to allow for the use of Radar for speed enforcement.\u00a0 The WH streets are among hundreds of affected streets throughout Los Angeles.\u00a0 This is based on current State of California requirements for setting speed limits.<\/p>\n

The street segment changes are the following:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\u2022Revise the speed limit on Corbin Avenue between Roscoe Boulevard and Ventura Boulevard from 35 miles per hour to 40 miles per hour.<\/p>\n

\u2022Revise the speed limit on Mulholland Drive between Topanga Canyon Boulevard and San Feliciano Drive from 35 miles per hour to 40 miles per hour.<\/p>\n

\u2022Revise the speed limit on Oxnard Street between De Soto Avenue and Shoup Avenue from 35 miles per hour to 40 miles per hour.<\/p>\n

\u2022Revise the speed limit on Victory Boulevard between Shoup Avenue and Valley Circle Boulevard from 40 miles per hour to 45 miles per hour.<\/p>\n

\u2022Revise the speed limit on Shoup Avenue between Roscoe Boulevard and Ventura Boulevard from 35 miles per hour to 40 miles per hour.<\/p>\n

In November of the 2018, after public review in the Public Safety Committee and a subsequent Full Board Meeting, the Neighborhood Council submitted a Community Impact Statement (CIS) withholding support for the increases and asking for more time to gather additional community input.\u00a0 While the City Council subsequently approved the hundreds of speed limit changes throughout the city, Councilmember Blumenfield’s office and the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) have offered tor work with the NC and community to address concerns related to the speed limit increases in our area.<\/p>\n

Representative from the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) will be at our Wedneday, March 13th Board Meeting to discuss near and longer term proposals to make the impacted streets safer for all.<\/p>\n
